We arrived this morning without too much trauma. Everyone made it through passport control (!) and we lined up to wait for the bus. It's sure nice to get to experience the waning days of summer.
We met our trusty guide Hernan, who will be with us all week. We drove around for a bit, seeing where the Pope used to live, where Evita used to live, etc.
Some of the sights seemed eerily familiar.
When our rooms were ready, we made our way to our home away from home, the Hotel de las Americas. After everyone was comfortably situated, we suffered the first tragedy of the trip. The hotel WiFi was broken. Panic ensued. People roamed the streets, in search of signals. Thank goodness they repaired it late this afternoon. There was general rejoicing, and we're off now to our welcome banquet!
