Shall we gather at the river?

Today was another full day, with a 9 a.m. departure (What's up with that?) for El Tigre. We walked around some fancy neighborhood, sang to some high school girls through the fence on the first day of school, and then headed for the river (the widest in the world!) for a boat tour of the delta.

We had our own private boat, which was for the best...

We went on to the fruit market for lunch (lots of restaurants serving more than fruit) and then headed back to the hotel for some free time and a needed siesta.

This evening we went to El Viejo AlmacĂ©n, literally the old shop, but now a restaurant with a tango theater across the street. Hernan, our redoubtable guide, asked us to sing for the wait staff. After singing a credible rendition of one of our Argentine songs, some people in our dining room approached us to ask if we could sings another song. They were part of a large family visiting from Ecuador and celebrating the 60th wedding anniversary of the family matriarch and patriarch. We sang a pretty good version of Shenandoah, and then we all crossed the street to enjoy the tango show.

After the show, we went back to the hotel and during the bus ride, I treated everyone to a reading of the beloved children's classic, Go the F*#k to Sleep. Here's hoping they take the hint. We have a long day tomorrow!
